Summer 2024 Breckenridge Indoor Activity Guide

Updated for Summer 2024

We are snow lovers here in Breckenridge and every snowfall is a reason for celebration and a chance to enjoy countless winter activities. However, those not accustomed to our occasional extreme cold temperatures may want to spend a day out of the elements. We’ve got more than just shopping and dining for indoor winter activities in Breckenridge. In fact, there’s something for all group sizes and all ages.

  1. Escape Rooms: Breckenridge has four Escape Rooms. Mountain Time Escape Room has three locations on Main Street locations and The Escape Room has a location on Ridge Street. All sessions are private and many are Breckenridge themed.
  2. Breckenridge Heritage: There are numerous home museums and a ski museum that celebrate Breckenridge’s rich mining history and the fun origins of skiing in Breckenridge. The Welcome Center in the heart of Main Street, the Edwin Carter Discovery Center on Ridge Street and the Ski Museum on Main Street are our favorites and all three can entertain visitors of all ages with some photo ops as well.
  3. Breckenridge Creative Arts: One-time classes in a variety of mediums and fun art displays are the name of the Breck Create game. Check out www.breckcreate.org for current event information
  4. Ready, Paint, Fire: After a 3-year closure, Ready, Paint, Fire returned to Breckenridge in late 2023 in a new location. Find this DIY canvas, pottery and mosaic workshop at 112 S. Ridge Street. Get your creative entertainment on this winter at Ready, Paint, Fire!
  5. Breckenridge Recreation Center: We are fortunate to have this world class facility here in the small town of Breckenridge. Some of the features include an aquatic center with two pools, a water slide, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, fitness classes, indoor tennis, a rock climbing wall and children’s indoor playground.
  6. Stephen C. West Ice Arena: Enjoy an open skate session in either the indoor or covered outdoor ice rink. Play a little stick and puck or give curling a try. Check the schedules at breckenridgerecreation.com.
  7. Yoga: What is a vacation without some relaxation time? There are a variety of classes at Meta Yoga, Bahava Yoga, Samadhi Healing Arts Studio, Spheeris Pilates, The Breck Yogi and the Breckenridge Rec Center.
  8. Eclipse Theater: Located in the basement of a historic schoolhouse, the Eclipse is a unique place to relax and enjoy a movie. See their website for current showings.
  9. Country Boy Mine: Go 1000 feet into Summit County’s only gold mine tour and slide down a 55-foot ore chute.
  10. Breckenridge Library: Browse for a good down-time book or re-discover your favorite childhood book and read with your own child.
  11. Children specific: Peek-a-Boy Toys and the Children’s Museum offer great indoor time for the kids. Find a unique game to take home or explore something new at the museum.
  12. Adult specific: Wine tastings at Carboy or Continental Divide wineries, a behind-the-scenes tour at Breckenridge Distillery or live music are just some of the adult-oriented fun times in Breck.
